Everything that is digital is evolving fast, that includes Content Marketing. What was great yesterday, might not work tomorrow. Here are a few content marketing trends to apply to your business in 2018.
1. Content Marketing is More Competitive than Ever
More companies are getting better with content marketing, bringing more competition to the online world. It is getting harder to succeed with content marketing as more companies apply larger budgets and bigger staff for content marketing.
2. Mobile is Key for Content Marketing
This is something everyone in marketing should know by now, but the impact of mobile is so big that it can’t be emphasized enough. More people are seeing your content through their smartphone then on a desktop computer. Content should be optimized for phones rather then desktops, where it was the other way around in the past.
3. One image is worth more than a 1000 words
In 2018, visual content is fundamental. Using images and video is crucial to a good content strategy. Nobody got time to read a whole article; we’ve become too lazy. Start spreading your message trough images and video rather then words.
4. Encourage User-Generated Content
People believe what other people say rather then what companies say. See every customer as a micro-influencer. A review, a social media post, a YouTube video, it’s all user-generated content that is valuable for your business. It’s personal and unique. Encourage your costumers to write, post or create something on your brand.
5. Facebook is not always the Best Platform for Sharing
Facebook is without a doubt the biggest platform for content sharing and content discovery, but is it the best? In 2019, it’s becoming almost impossible to reach your audience organically through the jungle of paid and sponsored posts. Think about that before you throw in a lot of money for a Facebook campaign.
Mix all these trends in your Content Marketing cocktail for the remaining of 2017.
